Subject: Incorrect Rate and Quantity shown for ESS allowance that flows to Payroll
Summary:

When allowances are approved in ESS and if flows to payroll, it displays a rate as 1 and Quantity as the total dollar value. Example: Employee 40342 received Operator allowance of 57.84 hours at a rate of $0.68/hour as displayed in Figure 1.1. When the actual pay was created, the pay edit displayed this as 39.33 @ $1 giving total dollar value as $39.33 as displayed in Figure 1.2. Pay edit should also display 57.84 @ $0.68.

The following changes were made(Include Database object names, Program classes and any other relevant information):

  1. The issue was caused by the ESS claims import procedure that was taking the total amount into the quantity with rate of 1. The total amount paid to the employee was the same however quantity and rate did not match with ESS time entry.
  2. We have changed the claims import procedure to use the quantity and rate defined in the ESS time entry.
