Subject: Upgrading Database from LinkSOFT V15.51 to V15.90 takes a long time

With reference to case T14346, since we need to reproduce the issue on latest version, we are upgrading Goodman Fielders database on our QA environment. However, we are unable to upgrade from version 15,5 to 15.90. The upgrade times out during the upgrade on the below form. The timeout value on Link Technologies - DatabaseUtility.exe config file has been changed to the maximum value of 9999.

Hi Vineet,

The reason you are getting a "timeout" is because you have over 30 "audits" enabled. Givenm the size of the database, you will need a very powerful server to audit the entire upgrade process.

Before upgrading, please turn off ALL audits. You can enable them after upgrade. See documentation on upgrade.

I removed all audit and ran the upgrade again yesterday. This timeout out at 7.54pm.

Morning Vineet, here's an update for case T14359:

Remember to do these on all upgrades, particularly on those with a lot of history data:
  1. Reindex
  2. Remove Audits
  3. Apply most recent patch on Installation folder (LinkSOFT_15.90.251107)
You can use these two URL to test:

Upgrade should take approx. 10 min. Here is the screenshot from our trial upgrade:

The following changes has been included in LinkSOFT 15.90.251107:

  1. Replace "Table Variable" with "Temporary Table" when performing Large Data Conversion
  2. Index 1. above to improve performance
