| Subject: | Validate all "Codes" to avoid "Special Characters and Spaces" |
| Summary: | Hi Team, We have attended cases where processing had been affected due to code structures. For Example - Case 6898- Users was able to process a sale with item having a code as "CD4'1mm". However, users was unable to process return of the sale. SyntaxError while returning.
- Case 6784 - User created a location as "S & M", saved the location as the default location under POS configuration. However, when logging in cashier screen system prompt message "No Configured Locations".
- Case 5180 - Data was not replicated because product code had special characters.
We need an improvement for the system to validate code creation to avoid issues. - If a code has a "Special Character or Space", prompt a message to the user " Code can not have Space or Special Character "
Here are the characters that the function removes: - Spaces (leading, trailing, and between words)
- Single quotes (
') - Commas (
,) - Tabs (
CHAR(9)) - Line feeds (
CHAR(10)) - Carriage returns (
CHAR(13))
This cleanup ensures that text remains standardized and free from unnecessary formatting artifacts |
