Subject: Enhance Payroll Timesheet Report so that it shows the total Allowances Created/Submitted/Approved in ESS Ready to Flow to Payroll
Summary:

Justification

Currently the Timesheet Payroll Report in ESS only shows the separation between Normal Hours, Time and Half and Double time hours submitted or approved. Any other activities approved is accumulated in the Other section. There is not breakdown of individual allowance that would be paid to an employee. This is problematic for the Payroll personnel as they are unable to reconcile what exactly has been approved and needs to be paid. Hence we need to modify our Time sheet payroll report so that the breakdown of allowance could be seen similar to the way Normal hours, Time and Half and Double time are shown in that report. See figure 1.1 below for current design. Figure 1.2 on the other hand shows the new proposed design. Further discussion in the development meeting.

Figure 1.1 Current Design - Removed for security reasons

Figure 1.2. New Proposed Design.- Removed for security reasons

In Figure 1.1 above if you look at employee 40309, it has a quantity of 89 in Other Section. Now we do not know what that other is from Figure 1.1. If you look at Figure 1.2, You can clearly see that 89 is sum of 44 Hours of BOPEARTOR, 44 hours of BSHIFT and 1 EMEAL allowance. This report has a similar design to Employee Hours Analysis report that we created in ESS. No change to the filters of the report. Only change to the layout of pay codes.

Hi Team,

As per discussion with Sanjeet, we can have new report for Allowances in ESS. This will allow users to verify if the calculated allowance before pay is created.

The following data filters can be part of the report.

  • Date From
  • Date To
  • Employee From
  • Employee To
  • Allowance From
  • Allowance To
  • Union
  • Shift
