Subject: Validate the status of "Parent Items" in a KIT Setup
Summary:

Application Version: 949 GA

Current Behaviour:

  • Users can mark a "Parent Item" obsolete while it is part of a KIT setup. This is successfully saved.
  • There is no message to inform the user that the item is part of an active KIT setup.
  • Users then are unable to sell the KIT Items. Message:-
    • "The available stock for kit Component: B001/A001 is not sufficient to complete this sale".

Steps to Replicate

  1. Create item A001 - Parent Item. Adjust 3 of A001 In.
  2. Create item B001 - Kit Item.
  3. Item A001 is added in the kit setup for product B001. Set the Conversion Factor for Kit as 2
  4. Sell of
    1. 1 of A001
    2. 1 of B001
  5. Mark A001 as obsolete.
  6. Try Selling B001.

Improvement:

  1. Validate the status of the "Parent Items". These cannot be obsolete when part of a KIT setup.
  2. This is to avoid scenarios where cashiers are unable to process sales and supervisors have to disgnose the root cause while customers await.
