Subject: Unable to save changes in menu 519 once product id populates having the configuration "Automatic Product Code (Y/N)" is set to "Y".
Summary:    
1. Problem Details

When the configuration "Automatic Product Code (Y/N)" is set to "Y", and a new product is created and saved, any alteration made once the product ID is loaded gives the following error:

4. Relevant History Information

The issue can be reproduced by performing the following:
  1. Set "Automatic Product Code (Y/N)" is set to "Y"
  2. On menu 519 - Create a product.
  3. Save.
  4. Enter in details section.
  5. Click save.
  6. Error msg occurs.

4. How to prevent this issue

The users currently after saving the product, have to click previous and come back to that product to cater for the changes.

Hi Aarti,


If the flag was set to 'Y' before you created the product, the list item should have been created as soon as save was activated.

If have created a product with flag as 'N' and then changed the flag after saving the header, then you will get error as db trigger is trying to automatically create the lines and at the same time application is trying to do the same.


Also the call does not have clear steps for me to replicate.

Dear Sanjeet,

As discussed, below are the steps to replicate:

  1. Set "Automatic Product Code (Y/N)" is set to "Y"
  2. Set "Auto location insert in Inventory (Y/N)" is set to "N"
  3. On menu 519 - Create a product.
  4. Save.
  5. Enter in details section.
  6. Click save.
  7. Error msg occurs.
