- Security Setup
There are three modes of security that can be used for this application:
- 1. Integrated security
- 2. Forms based security
- 3. Combination of Integrated and forms based security
- To use integrated security, the following needs to be setup:
- IIS authentication should be enabled for Windows Authentication and Anonymous authentication should be disabled.
- The web.config file "UseIntegratedSecurity" should be set to "Yes"
- A user needs to be created in the application's user management section. The password for this user can be left blank as the system will manage this automatically.
- User access is managed through the web systems user management section.
- To use forms based security, the following needs to be setup:
- IIS authentication should be disabled for Windows Authentication and Anonymous authentication should be enabled.
- The web.config file "UseIntegratedSecurity" should be set to "No"
- A user/password needs to be created in the application's user management section.
- User access is managed through the web systems user management section.
- To use Combination of Integrated and forms based security, the following needs to be setup:
- IIS authentication should be enabled for Windows Authentication and Anonymous authentication should be disabled.
- The web.config file "UseIntegratedSecurity" should be set to "No"
- A user/password needs to be created in the application's user management section.
- User access is managed through the web systems user management section.
- Users will need to provide both domain credentials as well as form credentials when logging in.
- Note the following:
- Users can register for an account and create their own passwords. Administrators needs to enable their account and provide the appropriate access.
- Users can recover password when form based security is used.
- Added the ability for administrators to reset a user password
- Framework improvements:
- Reports - add email framework where users can now configure reports to be emailed to predefined / configurable email addresses.
- System processes and scheduler - Added a new scheduler that allows users to configure and manage system processes which utilizes five processing threads
- Event Log - Added event log and logging structure to improve users visibility into system processes
- Quick Notes - Added quick notes form where users can create simple tasks, followups and reminders which is visible to all users.
- Added a role menu access "LE006 User can change hours taken".
If a users role has access to this option, then hours taken can be changed, otherwise user is forced to calculate hours.
- Created a new role menu access "TI007 Allow time entries for days which has already been approved"
This will allow administrators to control time entries for approved days.
- Added a configuration for maximum time entry hours per day. In previous version this was fixed at 24hrs.
- Added System date created to Leave View, Leave Approval and Leave History grid.
- Added a calendar to view time entries by day, week, month, year
- Added a calendar to view leave entries by day, week, month, year
- Added the ability to see which users are in a particular role in Role Menu Access screen.
- Made all 85 forms consistent in grouping, filtering, paging and theme.
- Added Group summary and total summary to pay details grid
