Subject: Getting Error message when generating Shift Summary Report in POS
Summary:    

Hi Sanjay, 

I have verified the case in 8.2.9. Tested in QA1 with database LINKSOFT.

Users can enter a long description for a role code on menu 221-1.

However, the database can only support 30 characters for the role description. See Figure 2 with snap from a client db.

Issue with above, is that the Shift Summary Report is not generated when the role description exceeds 30 characters.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Create a new role "SUPP"
  2. Enter description as " Inventory & Purchasing & POS Clerk"
  3. Assign the role to "Manager"
  4. Make a sale using the "Manager" account.
  5. Generate the "Shift Summary Report". Below error exist. See Figure 1.

    Hi Rashna,

    Test case 2 is not an issue. Backoffice role maintenance screen has a limit of 35 characters for role description.
