Status: Closed
Subject: Send an alert to the employee when the ESS account is created through Payroll Profile.
Summary:

Application Version: 949 GA

Current Behaviour:

  • There a process ESS002, to automatically create/disable employees.
  • Employees whose ESS account are created with the above process need to recover passwords to login.
  • Currently, HR officers need to inform the employees about the account creation via a phone call or email.

Improvement:

  1. Send an alert to the employee when the ESS account is created through Payroll Profile.
  2. The email should state that the employee needs to recover passwords and change password.

Reports Affected: None

Test Plan:

  1. Enable Process ESS002
  2. Create a new employee on 321. Frank Lal enter the email address for the employee.
  3. Verify that email is sent to the registered email address without errors.

Any Important Notes:

Discussion from case 8918

When an employee is created in PAYROLL, we use a procedure to create the new employee as a USER in ESS. When this user is created, we want to send an email to the user notifying the ESS account is created.

To achieve this, we will transfer the "user creation" from a scheduled SQL procedure to a Scheduled Job in ESS. This way we can use the standard "Create User" mechanism to send out an alert.
