Bula Team,

FRCS has confirmed that the physical device may change but the protocol to communicate with the device will not change.

Response from FRCS as below

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Bula Sanjeet,

No changes will be required on POS side. Reason those ESDC devices will not be used in production is that DTI do not plan to enter POS or ESDC market. Those devices does not have production quality (casing etc). We have used those devices for development, testing and proof of concept only. It also helped us wrote clear specification for E-SDC developers.

Please check latest version of Technical Instructions for POS Developers published on FRCS web site http://www.frcs.org.fj/vat-monitoring-system-vms/

Regards,

Ivan

Also agreed to have the configuration at DB level to allow for "VMS Integration" which only Link will have access to.

Sanjeet

Development work for ESDC integration has been completed.

Notes:

  1. Settings for ESDC are shown in Figure 1 below.
  2. The API URL should not have the "/" at the end.
  3. ESDC is a database level setting.
  4. IF VSDC is enabled and ESDC is enabled, VSDC will take preference

This update will be available on 8.2 for testing.

QA for product and Patch Releases
Step 1 - Developer to system test changes until not issues are found
Step 2 - Product expert to complete Product QA.

Test Summary

  1. Setup ESDC Device
  2. Configure ESDC on POS
  3. Perform Cash Sale. Message as in figure 1 below
  4. Green Light is stable on ESDC Device

The Message is only displayed on the 1st attempt. The user has to log out of POS after green light is stable and sale thereafter is flawless.

Hi Sanjeet, The issue is with the current ESDC. I can add further delays in the processing, however, when we build our own ESDC these issues won't be present.

Can you test this on the ESDC update Ivan said he has?

    Hi Sanjay,

After the upgrade at Lami Chemist , client still get "The remote server returned an error.(400) bad request". This happens on the very 1st sale cashier does from POS.

Can we check ESDC status on login as opposed  to "Complete Sale"?

    Regards
    Sanjeet

Hi Sanjeet, I checked this on the physical device and this happens intermittently.

On the VPN ESDC environment, this does not happen.

It seems like the issue is specific to the PI ESDC. Since Ivan has confirmed this is not to be used in Live environments, can you switch Lami Chemist over to use VSDC?

Maybe we should discuss this again with a conference call with Ivan on Monday as I am not sure how we can consistently reproduce this. Can you arrange , his please?

    Regards
    Sanjay
