Subject: Update the notes on the Inventory Dead Stock Report to explain how it functions
Summary:

Request to monitor the crystal reports of Dead Stock Report which does not give a clear indication of the stock which is set idle for more than three months or more.

For example, any item which was bought in the current month is also included when the report is run but that not the Dead Stock.

Hi Sanjay,

Can we please update the Inventory Dead Stock Report notes to explain the below.

  1. The purpose of the date filters.
  2. When will an item appear in the report?
    1. a period for which the item is not sold, purchased or adjusted?
    2. or after a certain time of existence?
  3. Define the purpose of the "Qty Sold Threshold" filter.

For Approval

Thanks
Rashna

    Hi Sanjay

Tests carried out according to requirements specified on the case header

Table 1 - Summarised list of issues

1Create a new stock as "DEAD". Do not adjust the instock amount. This should not appear in the reportPass
2Adjust 10 of the inventory. The item should now appear in the reportPass

4Generate the "Dead Stock Report" with a threshold as 10. No date filter. The item should appear in the report.Pass
5Generate the "Dead Stock Report" with a threshold as 5. No date filter. The item should appear in the report.

    9Validate report notes is updated.Pass

    Update documentation with the below:

    1. Any Item with stock will appear on the report.
    2. Qty Sold Threshold becomes the baseline.
For example, if we generate the reports with 100 as the threshold then all items that have been sold less than 100 times will appear on the report. For example, item A1001 was 150 sold times and A1002 was sold time 80.
Item A1002 will be populated in the report.
    3. The date filter is the range in which users what to review if the stock was dead (Not sold). Review the "Qty Sold" column on the report.
