Subject: Error in Recruitment Manager - "String or binary data would be truncated" when submitting vacancy.
Summary:

Hi Sanjay,

When submitting a vacancy via RM the user gets an error as "String or binary data would be truncated". This is caused when the user name in RM is more than 16 characters, BO can only accept 16 characters but RM allows for more.

This needs to be prohibited at RM level to avoid this error.

Steps to Replicate:

1.     Register a user.

2.     User name should be greater than 16 characters.

3.     Login into RM with the user.

4.     Click on apply for the vacancy.

5.     Complete the vacancy.

6.     Submit the vacancy.

7.     Error msg - please refer to image below:

Dear Alvis,

This issue has been resolved, if the user is creating a profile where the user name is more than 16 characters, upon clicking on submit, the user gets an msg:

"Registration failed! message is: Username must be less than 16 characters String or binary data would be truncated. The statement has been terminated."

Thank you,

Aarti Gayaneshwar.
