1. Details

Unable to load report Sales Analysis - Error: Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.


2. Error Message (Include screenshots of error)

Steps to Replicate LinkWeb:

  1. Login into LinkWeb
  2. Click on Report
  3. Select Sales Analysis 
  4. The screen loads for a while and throws this error message: Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

Steps to Replicate POS:

  1. Login into POS
  2. Click on Reporter
  3. Select Sales Analysis
  4. Loaded data for a particular shift
  5. It took the report 2 mins to run

PART A - Development work for this case has been completed.

1. The change will be available in version:12.40.0419

2. The following changes were made(Include Database object names, Program classes, and any other relevant information):

  1. Performance tuning was done on the "sales analysis report" when extracting data in a large database.

3. Affected Areas:

  1. "Sales Analysis Report"

4. The issue was caused by:

  1. Time taken to generate was approximately 7 minutes. This has been refactored to generate in <1min.
