Subject: If product price does not exist, item cannot be loaded from Product Maintenance of POS to set price
Summary:    

If product price does not exist, item cannot be loaded from Product Maintenance of POS.

System prompts message "Price not set for the item. Please contact Administrator"

Users have to log into Backoffice to set the Price

Test Plan 

  1. Create a Product in Backoffice,Do not set the price of the item.
  2. Load item on POS Grid, system should prompt message "Price not set for the item. Please contact Administrator"
  3. Navigate to Utilities -- Product Maintenance,Load the Product,Product should be loaded to set the price
  4. Once the price is set, cashier should be able to sell the item
  5. Price should be updated in Backoffice

To resolve the issue we have separated validation of an item so that areas that do not require validation can be bypass.

The following changes have been done:

  1.  The following item validations are performed:
    1. Product is Obsolete
    2. Kit items are not setup
    3. Price is not setup
  2. Below are the areas where validation is performed:
  1. Load Returns
  2. Scan barcode in POS
  3. Load scale item
  4. Change quantity
  5. Prescription Entry
  6. Load Prescription in POS
  7. Picture menu 
  8. Remove discounts 
  9. change customer 
  10. Search for an item to load in POS grid 
  11. Load item from Fast key
  12. Load and Copy
Below are the areas where validation is not performed:
  1. POS Form - Utility - Price Check
  2. POS Form - Utility - Product Maintenance

QA Environment Details

  1. OS version:Windows 7

  3. Database (Demo/New/Client): Demo- LINKSOFT on QA4
  4. Client is QA1

Steps to reproduce failed scenarios:

  1. Create a Parent Item RL002
  2. Create a Kit item RL003
  3. Set item RL002 as the kit component for RL003.
  4. Conversion 1:2
  5. Set the selling price as $4.00
  6. Sell one of RL003.
  7. After the sale, remove the RL002 from the kit setup.
  8. Load and Copy the sale made in 4.
  9. Save and create a new transaction.
  10. The user is able to successfully sell the item, however, kit set up has been removed. If we load the item separately, it prompts message.
  11. If the user loads and changes the customer from POS CASH to 0002. The sale is still made.

    Hi Rashna,

    The issue in Comment 6 does not relate to this case and needs to be created as a new case.

    Please test the functionality of loading items in POS Product Maintenance screen in this case only.

    Hi Team, 

    As per comment number 7, case 9102 - Kit components are not validated when loading items from "Load and Copy", has been logged.

    loading items in POS Product Maintenance screen has been tested in comment 6.

    This case is now closed.
