1. Details

SKU code Overrides Product Description at POS Fast Keys. The cashier is unable to identify the items once SKUs are added. SKU is only used for Purchases, not at POS.  See figure 1.1 below. Product 01083: Ajwain Kg has SKU Code added as SKH01083. Once SKU is saved Figure 1.2 shows the Fast Key Description now showing SKU rather than the Product Description

5. The issue can be reproduced by performing the following:
  1. Assign SKU to any item, in our case item 01083
  2. Now assign this item as a FAST KEY on POS Processing form.
  3. Note the description is that of the SKU Code rather than the Product Description

PART A - Development work for this case has been completed.

1. The change will be available in version: 12.45.0715

2. The following changes were made(Include Database object names, Program classes, and any other relevant information):

  1. Removed SKU from Fastkeys

3. Affected Areas:

  1. Fastkey Assignment

4. The issue was caused by:

  1. Design not found

5. Notes: The patch is available at this link.

We have verified this on the below setup as well as OTG Test onsite. 

Server: LINKQA8
Database: Linksoft-Demo
Application Version: 12.42.0716 GA

Steps used for Testing

  1. For item 01083, set SKU on Inventory Master as SKU001
  2. Assigned this Key on POS. 
  3. Description picked was SKU001 instead of the Product Description

Issue is not resolved
