Subject: Validate Leave date against system calendar setup
Summary:

Hi Sanjay,

There have been scenarios where users end up creating leave transactions as:

Date To: 19/06/2017 - Date From: 20/06/8017

Although the end date is 8017, the system allows this to be saved.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Solution:

We would like to have a configuration created for leave as follows:

Check Leave Application Period:

The Value should be numeric as the period could be 1, 2 (in years) etc.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Working:

The check should work as the following:

For example: The Check Leave Application Period is set to 2 years.

The user applies for leave as: Date To: 19/06/2017 - Date From: 20/06/8017.

Looking at the current year and the check set, the system should display a message as "Cannot apply leave as Date From exceeds checked years"

Development work for this case has been completed.
The change will be available in version: 8.13
Documentation update required(Yes/No. Add change details below)
QA required(Yes/No.Include areas that require testing): Yes

The following changes were made(Include Database object names, Program classes and any other relevant information):

  1. Added validation to check "Date To" against the calendar setup. If calendar is not set up, a message is displayed that saying "calendar is not configured for date [date]"
  2. Changed payroll end of year process to create next two years of calendar instead of 1. This is done so that when users apply for leave in December for January next year, the calendar is already set up.
