Subject: Enhancement - Allow search of UPC, SKU and Additional Field on 519.
Summary:    

Hi Team, 

Users have requested if we can add the feature to  search products by UPC, SKU and barcode on the product master.

Justification

One product can  have multiple bar codes hence,  the Product Code is user defined. All related bar codes for the product is entered in the bar code section.

Example  of products

  • Fiji Water
  • Nestcafe
  • Aqua Safe
  • Cadbury Chocolate

Test Plan

  1. For a product enter the UPC, SKU and bar code in the bar code button
  2. Search for the above codes under the find Panel on 519

Development meeting January 2018 Sanjay, Alvis, Sanjeet and Vineet.

Approved Design

  1. Add search button next to the product code.
  2. Search button should load a new form with a google like seach.
  3. When the search is performed the list of items shoudl return the product description and the searched item in a square bracket.
  4. Selected line in 3 above will close the search form and load the item.

Agreed to make the following changes to Find function in menu 519:

  1. The find result will show product description [part no] [upc] [sku]
  2. When the search box text changes, we search based on the following:
    1. Description
    2. Part No
    3. UPC
    4. SKU
    5. Barcodes
