Subject: Incorrect Start date when history PAYE Electronic File is generated.
Summary:    

FRCA has rejected the PAYE electronic file for the following reason. I have tested the case in QA1 with 8008. Database - LINKSOFT


Employee started work on 01/01/2013. Pay was created in year 2013. Later the start date was set to 01/01/2017.

When users generate the PAYE electronic file with dates as 01/01/2013 to 31/01/2013.

The start date is 01/01/2017 to end date as 01/01/2013. The start date should be 01/01/2013 for which the electronic file was generated.  Hence FRCA rejects this files. Refer to the image below.

Additional details: We have changed the way start date is extracted. The process is as follows:
  1. When pay is updated, the current service is captured and stored in the pay history table
  2. When PAYE electronic file is generated, the start date is calculated as follows:
    1. Get service for the pay based on the PAYE date range
    2. If service is not captured (history data) then get service from employee service history
    3. If service history is not captured, then get start date from employee profile.
