Development work for this case has been completed.
The change will be available in version: 8.10.001
Documentation update required(Yes/No. Add change details below): No
QA required(Yes/No.Include areas that require testing): Yes

The following changes were made(Include Database object names, Program classes and any other relevant information):

  1. The issue was caused by the leave alert process that was taking a long time to format the email content from the document template. It was taking approximately 2 minutes for the alert to be formatted. This delay caused the save leave application process to timeout.
  2. The following changes were done to resolve this issue:
    1. Changed the document template process to utilise table functions to make alerts. This change is available in the framework.
    2. Changed the save leave application process to queue the record for emailing. A background process then picks up the record and generates the alert.
    3. Changed leave generation alert to utilise a new table function LT_HRM_Leave_fx that reads data from a single record instead of a view that reads data from the whole dataset.
  3. These changes has improved the save leave application process significantly as the alert is now in a system background alert process.
