Subject: System does not restrict leave applications which are back dated.
Summary:

Hi Sanjay,

The system does not  restrict users from dis-saving leave applications which are back dated.

Steps to replicate:

  • Make a leave transaction in ESS:
    • Date To: 21/07/2016
    • Date From: 14/06/2016
  • Click on save
  • The system allowed this application to be saved.
Refer to image below:

there are two issues:

  1. Back dated leave applications should not be allowed.
  2. When clicking on save, the system did not ask the user to use the "Calculate Button".

This a scenario faced by LTA currently.

Tested in V8.12, Demo DB: Linksoft on QA4.

Regards
Aarti

Hi Aarti, why is this a system issue?

I don't see anything wrong here.

Hi Aarti,

Refer to my comments in RED below

  1. Back dated leave applications should not be allowed. Backdated transactions are allowed provided the earliest date is after the first leave effective date.
  2. When clicking on save, the system did not ask the user to use the "Calculate Button". The system does prompt user to calculate hours provided the system calculated hours is more than what the user entered. In this case, the Date To is greater than Date From so the calculated hours is zero. I have added a check to verify that "date from" is less than "date to".
Regards
Alvis
