Subject: Tax codes "SRL & ECAL" incorrectly calculated when bonus is paid in the same period
Summary:

Dear Team,

System deducts incorrect SRL (FJ Social Responsibility Tax) & ECAL (Environment and Climate Adaptation), based on the following scenario:

  1. Created an employee: E069
    • Start Date: 01/01/2018
    • PayRATE: $400,000
    • Monthly Employee
    • SRL & ECAL are tagged
  2. Created standard pay:
    • Correct deduction of PAYE & XXXXX
  3. Created first pay:
    • Pay Date: 31/01/2018
    • Pay Team: MT
    • Paid the normal 160 hours
    • Paid commission using “BCOMM” paycode of $6447.67
    • PAYE, SRL & ECAL calculated corrected – system amount matched with the FRCA Formula 6 Excel Sheet
    • Update pay
  4. Management decided to do a backpay of $16666.67:
    • On menu 311-2, changed the “MT” date to 31/01/2018
    • Created a “Special” Pay:
      1. Pay Date: 31/01/2018
      2. Pay Team: MT
      3. Pay Type: Special
    •  Added “ABPAY” of $16666.67
    • Compared the PAYE Reconciliation Report with the FRCA Formula 6 Excel Sheet:
      1. PAYE – correct
      2. SRL – Incorrect

Hi Aarti, this functionality is by design. We will need to review this in the development meeting if this needs to change. Can you get Vineet or Rashna to bring this to the next development meeting?.

Regards
Sanjay

Development work for this case has been completed.
The change will be available in version: 9.4

1. The following changes were made(Include Database object names, Program classes and any other relevant information):|

  1. Changed the tax calculation function to calculate remaining pays when a normal pay has been completed and special pay is made on the same date.

2. The issue was caused by:

  1. Tax calculation function was calculating the remaining pays as 12 instead of 11. This caused the total income for the employee to be overstated by a month's salary.

    3. Next Step

    1. UAT all payroll tax scenarios

    Hi Rashna,

I have tested this and the tax figures are calculating correctly.

I checked your database and the tax rates used is different from the demo setup. Can you manually calculate the tax value and confirm the values match with your payroll tax setup.

    regards
    Alvis

We have also increased the width of columns in the "paye reconciliation report" to allow for 7 digits including 2dp for Bonus and Other field.

can you confirm all other fields are showing data for 7 digits?
