Subject: Plastic Bag Levy tax label is incorrectly reflected on the A4 report
Summary:

Hi Sanjay,

Issue: Plastic Levy tax label is incorrectly reflected on the A4 report.  Plastic Bag Levy is standard 10c.

80mm receipt shows levy as 0.10$ and A4 shows  0.00%.

Hi Rashna,

The tax code for plastic bag levy seems to be incorrectly setup on your environment. There should be a 10c tax for the plastic bag line. In your example, the tax is zero.

regards
Alvis

Meeting with Vineet Rashna and Sanjay,

There are two issues with this decision

  1. The tax setup is incorrect. We are using percentage instead of value. Secondly, the tax value should be shown as 10c.
  2. The inventory item setup is incorrect as the price should be 0 and the tax component should be 10 per unit. This implies 0 zero revenue and 10x unit price tax component.
  3. When the item is scanned the line total is incorrect. See Figure 1 below.
    1. The Tax amount is incorrect.

We are working on the following:

  1. Correcting the Value-based tax codes - Previously not working as it should be
  2. Correcting procedures that calculate tax to incorporate Value Based Tax  setup
  3. Correcting POS forms to use procedures to calculate tax

We expect to finish this by COB 27th June 2018

System test completed. Plastic bag line is correctly showing tax amount and tax labels are showing P codes correctly in 80mm and A4 receipt.

Hi Sanjay,

This case has been successfully tested.

Documentation is not required for the case.

Test Environment
  • Version 9.4.8 Beta 3
  • LINKSOFT on LINK008
  • VSDC setup
Test Plan

Create tax code PBL with Value and Exclusive Flag. Insert the tax label as "P" with value of $0.10.
  1. Set the Price for item FT0372 as 0.00. This is because the plastic levy is paid to the government and is not a revenue for an organization.
  2. Process the sale of item FT0372 in POS. Unit Price should be 0, Tax amount to be $0.10 and Total as $0.10. - Pass
  3. Complete the sale. Sale should be completed without errors. - Pass
  4. Verify that the 80mm and A4 has the tax label as P and tax amount as $0.10 - Pass.
