Subject: Unable to login into Linksoft after upgrading to 933
Summary:

Hi Sanjay,

We have created a new database at a client site but when trying to login, the following error is received. We have uploaded all inventory details of the client to this database. To review and isolate this as an applications issue, we created another DB as Linksoft1 onsite and tried to log in to POS, we were able to successfully login to that DB.

Steps:

  1. Open POS
  2. Errors Appears

Environment Details:

  1. QA: 4
  2. DB: CLIENT_CONSUMER_LINKSOFT
Kindly take a look urgently as our consultant is stuck onsite in Nadi.

Regards
Aarti/Vineet

Hi Alvis

We had already ran the DB scripts twice assigning case to development team for further diagnosis. This did not resolve our problem.

Hi Vineet,

The error message indicates that one of the values is not in the correct format.

We checked your database and found that Default POS float amount was not a numeric amount. Please change this to a numeric amount using Backoffice Configuration.

From our understanding, the cause would be the POS Float amount was set to a blank using back-office application.

If you can find another way to make this blank, let us know.

We will change the case type from system issue to support.

regards
Alvis

[10:39:54 AM] Link - Vineet: I see. So can we get POS to somehow display that as message as we do not know the cause from just the message displayed by POS error message.
[10:40:29 AM] Sanjay Singh: You cannot make the value a string if you use the application, it only happens if you use backoffice to update the POS configuration
[10:40:37 AM] Sanjay Singh: we will remove POS configuration from Backoffic
