Subject: System did not allow change of employee ID and the message on the screen is also incorrect.

While trying to change the employee ID , the following as received:


Steps to replicate:

  1. Navigate to menu 321.
  2. Click on Utilities ~~~> Maintenance.
  3. Navigate to "Change Employee ID"
  4. Select one current employee and enter in the new ID.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Error message received

Issues:

  1. The system did not allow the change of employee ID.
  2. There was an incorrect message on the screen.

The following changes were made(Include Database object names, Program classes and any other relevant information):

  1. Changed BackOffice to display the correct error message when employee id fails to change.
  2. changed employee id change procedure to return a message to display on screen.

Change Employee ID from E013 to X013 (Pass)
Change Employee ID from E013 to F013. This should not successful as E013 does not exist any more. (Pass, Message: Old Employee ID does not exists)
Change Employee ID from X013 to F013. This should be successful (Pass)
