Subject: Cost centre does not update once a new position is assigned to an existing employee in Menu 332-3 in Version 8120.00
Summary:

Hi Sanjay,

While working on Support case 6495 - Double Cost Centre Reporting, I have replicated the issue of Cost centre not changing when a New position is assigned to an existing employee.

I have tested the issue in QA2, Version 8120.00 Databases:

  1. LINKSOFT (demo database)
  2. LINKSOFT-NEW (New database)
  3. CLIENT-CRUZ-LINKSOFT (Clent database - in QA4)

Steps to replicate - Demo database:

  1. Create a new employee or use an existing employee (ensure details are present in Menus 313, 324)
  2. Create Pay 332-1
  3. Change the Employee Position in 321
  4. Select 332-3, the Cost Centre for all the Pay codes for the particular employee changes without performing Pay Verify and also without removing and adding employee

Steps to replicate - New Database

  1. Enter 2 test data each for menus 214 and 313 for the default company
  2. Set the Pay details in 311-2, 312-1
  3. Create Employee in Menu 321
  4. Attach the Position created in 313
  5. Create the Standard Pay for the new employee
  6. Create the pay 332-1
  7. Go to Menu 321 change the position for the employee and assign the second position created in 313
  8. Go to 332-3 - the cost centre does not change
  9. Create standard pay
  10. Remove and add employee - the Cost Centre changes apart from the one in 324, therefore, have to individually alter the cost centre in 324.

Steps to replicate - Client Database

  1. Change the employee position (8030) in 321
  2. Create the pay - 332-1
  3. Go to Menu 332-3
  4. The Cost Centre does not change for employee 8030 and picks the old Cost Centre
  5. Create the Standard Pay for employee 8030
  6. Remove and add employee 8030 - the cost centre changes apart from the Cost Centre in 324, therefore, have to individually alter the Cost Centre in 324 for changes to be picked in 332-3.

Justification

The Cost Centre in Menus 323, 324, 325 and 329-2 should automatically be updated once the Position details change for the employee in Menu 321.

Regards,
Fariha

    Hi Fariha,

You need to enable the configuration "Enable auto Cost Centre update on Position change" in menu 237 under payroll module for this feature to work.

    regards
    Alvis
