Subject: Need clarification for "Maximum Allowed Quantity" configuration in POS
Summary:

Hi Sanjay,

I need clarification on this case.

There is a configuration in POS "Maximum Allowed Quantity".

As it is, I assume that the configuration is to limit the number of items we can sell per transaction.

I have verified this configuration and below are the results.

  • I set the "Maximum Allowed Quantity" to 2.
  • I loaded item PNT01 with a single click from the fast key, I tried to change the quantity to 5. This was not allowed.
  • I loaded 5 of item PNT01 by clicking on the item 5 times on the fast key. Sale quantity was 5 and the transaction was completed.
  • I loaded 5 of item PNT01 by searching the item 5 times.  Sale quantity was 5 and the transaction was completed.
  • I loaded 5 of item PNT01 by typing the product code under the barcode 5 items. Sale quantity was 5 and the transaction was completed.

Concerns

  1. What is the purpose of the configuration? Does it only look at quantity change?
  2. Should the configuration check for the configured quantity regardless of how the items are loaded.
Test Environment
  • Version 949 GA

Thanks
Rashna

Hi Rashna,

This configuration was added to control how much a user can change the Quantity when manually changing the product quantity.

Assigned to Alvis to clarify configuration description, then allocate to Rashna to explain with examples in the documentation.
