---Meeting with Sanjay,Alvis---

We have agreed to proceed with option 2 as this is the least amount of effort to achieve objectives

Design for valuation as at a date.

Objectives:
1. ability to run stock valuations at the end of a month.
2. the current stock valuation report takes a long time to run, we need this under 20 seconds
3. User should be able to backdate a transaction to a specified number of days.
----------------------------
Design Option 1:
1. Introduce the concept of periods
2.a transactions can be entered in open period only
1. Inventory Adjustment IN/OUT
2. Stock take
3. Transfers
4. Purchase receive
5. Cash sale
6. Credit sale
7. Returns
8. Layby completion
2.b Replication
1. Period needs to replication from Headoffice to all branch
3. Users control the open and close of periods
4.a Periods can be defined at any length of time (daily, weekly, monthly) Recommend to align periods with months.
4.b If period does not exist, the system creates the next period.
5. When a period is marked as closed, flag the period for recalculation.
6. Recalculation process performed by a scheduled process.
7. Show progress on period recalcuations
----------------------------
Option 2:
1. Create a period table with monthly dates and recalculate flag.
2. As transactions are created, the transaction period is flaged for recalculate
3. Scheduled process computes stock valuation for all periods marked as recalculate on a nightly basis.
4. The valuation report allows the user to picks periods where recalculate = 0

Hi Alvis,

I have tested the case in Qa1 with LINKSOFT database.

The cost is not correctly updated in the LT_INV_VALUATION table.

We did a adjustment for part number " CASE8430" with quantity as 100 and cost as 5. When we generated the Valuation Report, the report was blank.

This is because the cost in the database in the table  LT_INV_VALUATION was updated with 0 instead of 5.

Refer to the image below.

Rashna

Hi Alvis,

I am in the process of testing the Valuation Report in Qa1 810.001

But the Recompute process does not run when we do a adjustment out. The line in the inventory valuation report becomes red. Transactions after adjustment out do not recompute.

Hi Alvis,

The valuation report is not correctly computing the instock value at HQ. The instock value does not accommodate sales made at branch. This causes a mismatch of instock on the valuation report and the inventory movement report.

However, at branch, 519, Inventory movement and Inventory Valuation report have the correct instock.

The above have been discussed with Alvis, Sanjay and Vineet via net meeting

Rashna

Hi Rashna, we have made the following changes to the way valuation is computed:

  1. Added two new columns in valuation table: LastTransactionDate, LastValuationDate
  2. Added functionality to mark items for valuation recompute when stock values are changed from replication.
  3. If a new transaction is replicated to HQ, the valuation will pick the items for recomputing as a newer transaction date is available.

These changes are in beta4.

Hi Team,

As per the meeting with Sanjeet, Sanjay and Vineet. I am  passing the case with the objectives in the header.

A new case will be logged for the desired functionality of the valuation report.

Objectives:
1. ability to run stock valuations at the end of a month. - Pass
2. the current stock valuation report takes a long time to run, we need this under 20 seconds - Pass, (recompute is dependent on the process but the report generates fast)
3. User should be able to backdate a transaction to a specified number of days. Pass (Adjustments can be posted for previous dates which are computed)

Regards
Rashna
