Subject: How to connect to Link Technologies FTP site
Summary:
Link Technologies provides an ftp site for handling large files. Below are the instructions on how you can access this ftp site.

Summary of steps:
  1. Contact Link Technologies and request for a username and a password to access the ftp site
  2. Download an ftp program that will allow you to connect to secured ftp sites. FileZilla is a free ftp application
  3. Configure the ftp site access
  4. Copy your files
Download and install instructions are provided wit the ftp programs.

Once you have downloaded and installed the FTP application, you will need to configure ftp access. If you are using FileZilla, select Site Manager (shown as 1 below) from the File menu as shown below: If you are using other programs, there should be an option to connect to a remote site.

Enter the details for the FTP site as shown in 2. above. Enter the username and password provided by Link Support as shown in 3 above.

Link Technologies uses an Active Port download protocol. You will need to configure this in your connection configuration as shown in the screenshot below (marked as 4). This option can be found in the Advanced Tab.

You can now save and connect to this ftp site.

Once successfully connected, you will find two folders, one named Downloads and another named Public. Please create a sub-directory in the PUBLIC folder and name your files clearly so that we are able to identify the files. You can now move files between your PC and the FTP site.
