Hi Team

Goodman Fielder International has requested for a Roster upload template to perform the following:

  1. Create new roster
  2. Edit existing roster schedules. 
  3. Validation Rules - Use current procesure to validate [LT_PAY_EditRosterSchedule]

This is required for simplicity and fast creation and editing of Rosters.

Goodman Fielder Internation has paid for this excel upload template.

I have attached a sample file which may require some editing

Hi Rashna

Please kindly test the Roster upload template. You can only use QA3 for testing as microsoft office is only installed on that QA. The upload template is included in update 8. Please seek assistance from Shavindar and Aarti if you are unable to locate the template.

Hi Shavindar/Rashna/Aarti

Please get together and kindly test this case. There are scenarios written on  the white board in the boardroom. You will need to add some more scenarios to that and commence test on this.  Please create test plan and add link in the comment beside the item in the UAT sheet so that everyone is aware what scenarios have been tested.

Hi Alvis, 

I am currently testing the Roster Upload Template.

The following have been obtained. 

  1. The drop down arrow does not function for company selection initially, once we have uploaded an entry then only all the drop downs are enabled to use. 
  2. Roster created on the template is not reflected in the database.

  3. If the Current Shift ID and NewShift ID is the same the following message appears upon upload = " Command Text was not sent for the command object" 

I am still testing the case, I will provide more feedback as things occur.

I have tested the following scenarios and some have failed as per the messages on the upload template.

Also note, roster is created for inactive employees.

Scenario 1:
Created employee leave from 1st december to 3rd december and approved leave. Create roster from 30th Nov to 5th Dec. Here are the results:


Scenario 3 has been resolved. see screenshot below:

I have tested the  Scenario 1 which i s passed, Message is prompt correctly that employee is on leave. This is when the status of the leave transaction is set is Approved.


Also tested Scenario 2 which is passed, Message prompts Employee shift overlaps with another shift.

Had a net meeting with Alvis to discuss concerns where Roster was being created for inactive employees and also to block users to upload roster without a roster schedule code.

Currently, awaiting updates from Alvis to further test the case.

Hi Rashna,

The templates has been updated to handle the following scenarios:

  1. Inactive employees will flag as validation error
  2. Missing roster code will flag as validation error

Please test and close the case

Employee is Inactive


No Roster Schedule Code indicated.


However, the status message has a 1 attached to it in both cases, can we get this changed please.

I will log a separate case for documentation and get it updated.
