Subject: Unable to save new employee record with employee status as "Inactive"
Summary:

Hi Sanjay,

At client site, there is a internal process of data entry in Backoffice.

When there is a new recruit, a letter is sent to HR department to create the employee profile. After the HR has done profile creation another letter is sent to Payroll department to enter the pay details. After this the employee service starts and pay is created for the employee.

At the HR department, when creating the employee profile,  they set the status as "Inactive", however the system does save this.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Create a new employee profile on 321/421. On menu 421, set a default grade.
  2. Set the status as Inactive.
  3. Click on Save
  4. Systems messages that leave will be void.
  5. Click on the Ok.
  6. The below error occurs. Save is unsuccessful.

Hi Rashna,

We have separated the save event of the employee profile tabs into individual updates.

The issue here was that employee status was inactive and termination date was not specified. The system will now show the correct validation message to the user.

regards
Alvis
